A new study says the NHS should also consider legalising erectile dysfunction treatments like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra if they are prescribed for conditions such as low blood pressure.
The findings were presented at the British Medical Association meeting on April 20.
Dr John McRae, a urologist at the Royal Medical School in London, said that while there is no evidence that erectile dysfunction is linked with taking Viagra or Cialis, it is thought to be linked to impotence.
“The NHS is aware of this, as it is one of the most well-known and well-studied drugs in the world, but there is no evidence that it is linked with the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
“The study found that although there was no evidence to support the use of the drug, the NHS was likely to have had a strong influence, given that patients were offered the drug, and their treatment was discussed,” he added.
“It is likely that the NHS may have had a greater role in the development of erectile dysfunction, given that they were the first to suggest the drug,” he added.
Dr McRae said that erectile dysfunction could be a cause or consequence of sexual dysfunction, and that it was important for patients to discuss with their GP and sexual partner the possible causes of their symptoms.
“It would help if the NHS was more forthcoming about the possible causes of the problem,” he added.
“But we don’t know that it is linked to any of these conditions.”
The results were published in theJournal of Sexual Medicinein May. It was the first time the study found that erectile dysfunction was linked to medication, as the researchers used medication known as Cialis.The study looked at the use of medication known as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction and the use of Viagra or Cialis, which are available on prescription.
The findings show that while taking Viagra, it can increase the likelihood of experiencing erectile dysfunction, and can also result in low blood pressure.
“The results are consistent with findings from other studies, and are well-supported by scientific literature,” Dr McRae said.
“We don’t have enough evidence to say that Cialis is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events.
“However, the results are encouraging, as there is evidence of a greater risk of cardiovascular events and lower levels of cardiac risk associated with Cialis compared to Viagra,” he added.
A spokesman for the NHS said that the findings do not show the need for a new drug to address erectile dysfunction.
The study found that although there was no evidence to support the use of the drug, the NHS was likely to have had a strong influence on the development of erectile dysfunction.

A man who was convicted of a federal drug trafficking charge over his use of a Cialis (tadalafil) prescription was sentenced today to a two-year jail sentence for his role in the scheme.
